AI Receptionist Price Index, October 2026
What would each of the 12 AI receptionists we track cost you in a month with 50, 150 or 300 calls? We priced every plan from each vendor's own pricing page, added published overage, and kept the cheapest result. Every calculation is shown below. Where a vendor doesn't publish a rate, we say "not computable" instead of guessing.
Key assumptions
- Call volumes of 50, 150, 300 answered calls a month.
- Average call length of 2.5 minutes for plans billed by the minute (50 calls = 125 min, 150 calls = 375 min, 300 calls = 750 min).
- Every call is from a different caller (so per-unique-caller billing counts every call) and every call is one billable conversation.
- For each vendor we price every published plan at that volume, add published overage, and show the cheapest result.
- Monthly billing, list price, before tax. No annual discounts, setup fees, add-ons or SMS.
- If going over a plan's allowance has no published rate, that plan is not used; if a cheaper plan with an unpublished overage rate exists, the figure is marked as an upper bound.
- If a vendor publishes no prices at all, the vendor is "not computable". We never fill gaps with guesses.
Estimated monthly cost at a glance
Sorted by the 150-call estimate. + = upper bound (a cheaper plan exists but its overage rate isn't published). ≈ = approximate per-minute rate from the vendor's page.

Plan names under each figure show which plan was cheapest at that volume. Cheapest isn't always best: some entry plans don't book appointments. Check the vendor page before you buy.
The calculation for each vendor
Dial Milo · Pay as you go (metered)
50 calls (125 min): ≈ $18
- Pay as you go: $3.00 number + 125 minutes × $0.12 = $18.00 ← cheapest
150 calls (375 min): ≈ $48
- Pay as you go: $3.00 number + 375 minutes × $0.12 = $48.00 ← cheapest
300 calls (750 min): ≈ $93
- Pay as you go: $3.00 number + 750 minutes × $0.12 = $93.00 ← cheapest
Approximate. Dial Milo's page says "about 12¢/min" for a US number on the standard voice engine; the real rate depends on the AI engine and transfers, and its own on-page calculator example works out lower. Excludes the $3 one-time setup fee and SMS.

Rosie doesn't publish an overage rate, so a plan is only used when the volume fits inside its minutes. Professional ($49) doesn't book directly into a calendar; Scale and above do.

Methodology
- Sources. Plan prices, allowances and overage rates come only from each vendor's public pricing page (or help-center pricing article), recorded in our data file with the date checked. Every figure on this page is checked against that file when the site is built, so the index can't drift from the source data.
- Usage. For each volume we work out usage in the unit the vendor bills: minutes (calls × 2.5), calls, unique callers (assumed equal to calls) or conversations (assumed equal to calls).
- Every plan, cheapest wins. Each published plan is priced as base price plus (usage over the allowance × published overage rate). The cheapest computable plan is the estimate.
- No guessing. If a plan's allowance is exceeded and no overage rate is published, that plan isn't used. If that plan's base price is below our estimate, the estimate is marked as an upper bound. Vendors with no published prices are "not computable".
- Exclusions. Taxes, setup fees, annual discounts, phone-number fees (except Dial Milo's, which is part of its metered price), SMS, add-ons and any required platform subscription (Jobber, Housecall Pro) are excluded.
- Why 2.5 minutes? It's a round planning figure, not a measured average. If your calls run longer, per-minute plans cost more; use the calculation lines above to redo the math with your own length.
Found a price that changed? Tell us at hello@callbotscore.com with a link to the vendor's page. See also our general methodology.
FAQ
What does an AI receptionist cost at 50, 150 and 300 calls a month?
Using only published prices checked 2026-10-16 and a 2.5-minute average call: at 50 calls, $18 (Dial Milo) to $449 (Sameday AI); at 150 calls, $48 (Dial Milo) to $449 (Sameday AI); at 300 calls, $93 (Dial Milo) to $789 (Sameday AI). Avoca and Housecall Pro CSR AI don't publish prices, so they're not computable.
Which vendors can't be priced?
Avoca and Housecall Pro CSR AI: no published price. Some other figures are upper bounds because a cheaper plan has an unpublished overage rate (Rosie at 150 and 300 calls, Sameday at 300 calls).
Why does the cheapest vendor change with volume?
Billing models scale differently. Per-minute and per-call plans grow with every call, per-unique-caller plans grow with new callers, and flat-rate plans (NextPhone) cost the same at any volume, so they look expensive at low volume and cheap at high volume.
